NEW Poster Session

New!  Dedicated Poster Discussion session in Implementation Science at the 2022 Midwest Clinical and Translational Research Meeting. The leadership of the Central Society for Clinical and Translational Research (CSCTR) and the Midwestern Section of the American Federation for Medical Research (MWAFMR) invite the submission of research abstracts in Implementation Science at a Poster Discussion session at the 2022 Midwest Clinical and Translational Research Meeting.  The Implementation Science Poster Discussion session will take place during the 2022 Research Meeting on Friday, March 4, 2022, 3:15 to 4:15 PM central.  Implementation Science (also known as Implementation Research or Care Delivery Science) focuses on research to understand and accelerate the sustained adoption of proven-effective interventions in clinical and community settings, and de-implementation of practices that provide little or no added value.   For more about Implementation Science, see https://prevention.nih.gov/research-priorities/dissemination-implementation.

Who should submit an abstract for the Poster Discussion in Implementation Science? Abstract submission is open to clinician-scientists (e.g., physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists), research scientists, clinicians, human-centered designers, and medical education professionals. This is a multi-disciplinary meeting.  Abstract submission is highly recommended for Early Stage Investigators (ESIs; see definition below), pre-doctoral and post-doctoral fellows, and other trainees who will benefit from close interaction with senior colleagues regarding their work. You may submit as many scientifically distinct abstracts as you like.  ESIs who submit an abstract are eligible for Best Poster Presentation Awards (see below). An ESI is an investigator who has completed their terminal research degree or end of post-graduate clinical training—whichever date is later—within the past 10 years and who has not previously competed successfully as a Principal Investigator for a NIH R01 or U01 or other equivalent independent research award.

Three Best Poster Presentation Awards in Implementation Science for Early Stage Investigators (ESIs).  To help promote engagement of ESIs and recognize high quality research in this area, CSCTR announces a set of awards for the best poster presentations in Implementation Science by  ESIs at the 2022 Midwest Clinical & Translational Research Meeting on March 4, 2022 in Chicago.  Three awards will be presented to overall best posters from ESIs: One award for $5,000, and two awards of $2,500 each.   ESI awardees must hold an MD, DO, MD/PhD, or PhD.   Preference for ESI Best Poster Presentation Awards in Implementation Science is given to candidates associated with institutions from the Central region of the United States.  All posters will be reviewed by a Selection committee at the time of the Poster Discussion session.  Reviewers will score the posters based on the significance and quality of the research presented and participation of the ESI in the Poster Discussion session.  Award Recipients will be announced at the end of the Poster Discussion session.  ESIs are eligible for only one Award.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND OTHER INFORMATION AND DEADLINE:  Deadline for submission is Monday, February 14, 2022, 11:59 PM Central.  Submissions after this deadline will not be reviewed. Abstracts must be submitted using the following link: https://forms.gle/2STp9ukyWXXyDYNK6
