Sep 24 - Ignatian Contemplative Prayer, By Rev Fr. William Goh
Ignatian Contemplation is a form of 'fantasy prayer' as one meditates on the life of God. It is a powerful tool to help us to get in touch with our inner selves, revealing all our unconscious desires and motives for acting thus. More importantly, this form of prayer helps us to relate with Jesus on the level of feelings. It is thus helpful in making Jesus real to us, as a person, with flesh and blood, thereby enabling a personal and intimate relationship with Him. Ignatian Contemplation is also useful for spiritual direction, discernment of the spirits, practice of the awareness of God’s presence and most of all, for the inner healing of memories.
4th Saturday @ CSC – 25 Sep 2010 at 6.45 pm
(Rosary, Praise & Worship, Mass & Healing Service)
Celebrated by Rev Fr. William Goh
THEME: HEALING A HEARTLESS HEART
Man is created for love and for relationship with God and his fellowmen. Yet, some have become oblivious and indifferent to the needs of their fellowmen, reducing life to that of an animalistic existence, where only sensual pleasure and self-indulgence matter. Isolated from God and his fellowmen, he lives in loneliness and utter lack of fulfilment. What is the cause of our indifference to God and to our fellowmen? How can we find fulfilment in this life and the next?
